Brand New - 31st March 2010 Fremantle WA

As a long time fan of Brand New, I walked away very disappointed (from the Fremantle, Australia show) and much lighter in the cash department. I offer some constructive and objective criticisms...

Firstly, the Metropolis is a poor choice of venue for this show. The noise of the band is 'too-big' for the venue making the acoustics sound like hell.

Number two, the sound/PA production was horrible.

And three - the ultimate clincher. Has Jesse Lacey lost his voice - YES!!! He could barely carry a note all night and sung well out of key on most occasions. Lyrics were slow, durgy and relied on more screaming than I would say is typical for Brand New. That's if he even bothered to sing.

All in all, the entire band came across as if they really didn't want to be there; last show on tour syndrome. 'Who cares we're buggering off anyway'. Now I understand that tours can be brutal, but I'm convinced of the bands' professionalism and wanting to give fans a great show. Alas not to be.

I saw Brand New at the Enmore Theatre 2008 for their 'Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me' tour. To date, one of/if not best concerts I have EVER seen.

Guys - what's going on?
